American Kiosk Management To Deploy Strategic Business Functions With Upgrade To E3 Retail’s TouchPointPOS Version 4.2
Raleigh, N.C. – December 16, 2008 – E3 Retail announced today that it has signed an agreement with American Kiosk Management, LLC, (AKM) to upgrade their point of service (POS) to version 4.2 of TouchPointPOS. Two years ago, AKM selected E3 Retail’s TouchPointPOS software as their software of choice to run throughout all their mall kiosk locations. Founded in 1998, AKM is one of the fastest growing specialty retailers in North America. The company operates more than 380 mall carts (kiosks) in shopping malls in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and other locations around the world.
According to Richard Long, Director of IT, the decision to upgrade the POS during these economic times was based on security compliance, return on investment (ROI), and strategic business initiatives. “The rollout of the new system will enable us to offer secure payment methods for Credit and Debit; deploy a Payment Card Industry PinPad Entry Device (PCI PED) from Verifone with integrated signature capture; lock-down manual discounts and control all promotional pricing with TouchPointPOS’s Promotions Manager; all while implementing tighter controls for returns processing using the Integrated Enterprise Returns Management System,” said Long.
TouchPointPOS is an advanced POS solution based on leading edge technologies from Microsoft: .NET 3.5 Framework, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF). Barry Henderson, Vice President of Application Development for E3 Retail said, “We’ve moved to a new retail systems paradigm that empowers us to respond rapidly to customer requirements, manage high volume data both reliably and securely and yet still leverage off-the-shelf technologies and system components from Microsoft.
